My mother, who passed away in 2008, never charged me to use her sewing machine, she never charged me for food, the first manual I offered to everyone was her own.

From today May 20th, 2017, all the Bernina Instructions Manuals I have are on my Google Drive for you to download, just as before, free of cost.

After almost ten years of service to the Bernina community, sending the manuals to everyone, most often manually, exchanging 689 emails, I say thank you to each one of you for your courtesy and appreciation.

The first email request for a manual was received on March 20, 2008.

All manuals are in English except one that is in French only. Several manuals are also in French, Dutch and German. Some are in four languages, some in three languages and some in two languages.

Bernina sewing machines tend to be passed from one generation to the next, and many of these machines are still stitching as happily as ever. These scanned manuals are available for printing and downloading so that you may get the most from your treasured heirloom.

There's nothing more frustrating than having a problem with your sewing machine and not being able to find the user guide to help you figure out what is wrong. Luckily most sewing machine manufacturers have downloadable sewing machine manuals on their websites, and for other brands you can download them elsewhere for free or for just a few pounds. Many manuacturers have Facebook pages or websites to get assistance with your queries so find your machine manufacturer below and find out how to get help.

Brother – You can download the guides for Brother's machines for free by using this link. You can also download patterns and projects and find out about Brother events & exhibitions on their site.They are also on Facebook and Twitter if you want to ask them about anything to do with your machine.

Toyota – On the Toyota website you will find manuals for their sewing machines & overlockers in a variety of languages. You can also find tips and projects on site.

They also have Facebook and Twitter accounts if you want to ask them a quick question or find out how to get more help.

Janome – Janome don't have instruction books on their website but you can contact the UK head office on 0161 666 6011. Also I've found a site here where you can download Janome manuals for just under £5, there are other manuals here but they cost £10. You can also follow Janome on Twitter.

Pfaff – You can find sewing machine guides for some the Pfaff machines here on their website. You need to select the model you want from the drop-down list and it will then show you what documents are available for you to view or save.

If you can't find a manual for your machine there try Home Appliance Manuals Online which has manuals for many Pfaff models for free download. Alternatively you can post queries on Pfaff's Facebook page.

Bernina – Bernina have a shop on their website here where you can purchase their manuals that vary in price depending on the model. Fortunately many of their instruction books are available for free download on the Manuals Online website here.

You can also find Bernina on Facebook.

Singer –If you have a Singer there are several options - on the Singer website you can download Singer sewing machine instruction manuals for free, or pay to be sent a printed copy. There's also a section where you can get operation basics, FAQs, stitch guides and step by step instructions on using the various presser feet.

There is a UK based site where you can get user guides, some free and some for a charge around £10. Plus there are many available for free download on the Manuals Online website.

Husqvarna – You can download a manual for your Husqvarna model here.

You can contact Husqvarna through their website with queries and find them on Facebook or watch instructional clips on their You Tube channel.

Frister Rossman – To obtain a copy of a manual for your Frister Rossman machine you can download them from the Sewing Online website for under £5.

Elna – No manuals available to download on Elna's website but you can contact them with queries or you can find them on Facebook here. On this website you can buy manuals to download, purchase on cd or get a paper copy.

AEG - AEG produce several models of sewing machine but they are not mentioned on the AEG website. You can fortunately download copies of the user instructions if you know the model number on the Manuals Lib website - here is an example.

Babylock - Visit the Babylock UK site to locate a UK dealer and for details of their overlockers. You can also download guides for Babylock sewing machines and overlockers.
